Duration: 3 Days (1 day preparation, 1 day training delivery and 1 reporting)

1. Background

Somali Women Vision (SWV) is a women-led organization with over 25 years of experience empowering vulnerable communities across Puntland, Somalia. Through entrepreneurship, vocational training, climate-smart agriculture, and institutional capacity-building programs, SWV works to strengthen economic resilience and improve livelihoods.

To enhance the financial knowledge and sustainability capacity of staff and partners, SWV is organizing a Financial Management & Sustainability Training.

2. Purpose of the Assignment

SWV seeks a qualified and experienced Facilitator to prepare and deliver a practical, results-oriented training on financial management, accountability, and organizational sustainability.

3. Training Objectives

Participants will be supported to:

• Understand key principles of financial management and internal controls.
• Strengthen budgeting, financial planning, and forecasting skills.
• Improve donor compliance and grant financial management practices.
• Learn practical tools for organizational financial sustainability.
• Enhance transparency, reporting, and financial accountability.

4. Scope of Work

The consultant will undertake the following tasks:

Day 1 – Preparation

• Develop a tailored training agenda based on SWV needs.
• Prepare all training materials: presentations, handouts, exercises, and tools.
• Conduct a brief pre-training consultation with SWV program leads.

Day 2 – Training Delivery

• Deliver a one-day interactive training using participatory facilitation methods.
• Lead group exercises, practical budgeting sessions, case studies, and discussions.
• Administer pre- and post-training assessments.

Day3-For reporting

Post-Training

• Submit a concise final training report (max 5 pages), including key outcomes and recommendations.

5. Expected Deliverables

• Training agenda and full set of materials (Somali/English).
• One-day successful training delivery.
• Pre/post-test results.
• Final training report.

6. Consultant Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• At least 5 years’ experience in financial management, NGO finance, or donor-funded projects.
• Proven experience delivering financial trainings or capacity-building sessions.
• Strong knowledge of donor financial compliance (UN, EU, USAID, INGOs, etc.).
• Excellent facilitation skills in Somali and English.

7. Duration

Total consultancy period: 3 days

• 1 day preparation
• 1 day training facilitation
• 1 for reporting

8. Payment

• Payment will be made after successful delivery of the training and the final report.
