SWA is a women-led right based organization that operates in the northern Somalia, especially the Puntland regions. the organization was established in 1993 and is one of the most successfully women- led in Somalia with over 30 years of successful interventions that uplifted the lives of thousands of vulnerable Somali women and girls.

The organization has its headquarter in Garowe, Puntland, Somalia, and has several field offices in the cities of Bosaso, Gardo, Badhan, Galkacyo and Lascanood.

The organization empowers women and children to reach their full potential by lifesaving sustainable livelihoods, quality and equitable education, primary health care & WASH, democracy and human rights, advocacy and legal assistance.

Overall purpose of the role:

The primary objective is to recruit qualified enumerators to support data-related tasks, surveys, and routine data collection activities required by Somalia Women Association (SWA) in Bosaso and surrounding areas. Enumerators will be responsible for conducting accurate and high-quality data collection to support SWA’s program implementation and monitoring activities. In addition, enumerators will support beneficiary registration and verification processes, ensuring that all targeted individuals meet the required eligibility criteria. This includes conducting household visits, verifying identification documents, capturing accurate demographic information, and ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the registration cycle. SWA will hire experienced, locally based data collectors who demonstrate strong skills in both quantitative and qualitative data collection, adherence to ethical standards, and commitment to producing reliable and timely information.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in trainings to familiarize with tools before actual field data
  • To collect data for assessments based using given tools and questionnaires
  • To capture data from target groups and input into digital platforms using mobile phones
  • To ensure accuracy and completeness of information that is gathered and recorded through the survey process.

  • Act as a link between the community leaders, the community and other stakeholders in the
  • Enumerators will conduct beneficiary registration and data entry and ensure quality of data entry and also contribute to the distribution of fodder to beneficiaries.
  • Mobilize the community to participate in the projects and encourage all groups to
  • Be a good steward by ensuring that project materials and resources are used
  • Ensure that cross cutting issues such as protection, gender, and environment are addressed and mainstreamed in the project.
  • Perform other duties related to field data collection as may be assigned by SWA program and MEAL teams.

Experience and technical competencies: (include years of experience)

  • Minimum of 1 years working experience with humanitarian international NGOs on data
  • Minimum secondary level education certificate, and/or Diploma in Statistics, social science, economics or computer application or any other related field.
  • Minimum of 1-year field experience in Bosaso on the same
  • Computer literate and able to use Microsoft Office packages (i.e. Word and Excel) and
  • Familiar with local context and cultural sensitivity in Mogadishu
  • Proven ability to function well in an unstable and restricted environment
  • Has effective communication skills (oral and written) and able to interview police officers at different
  • Ability to work independently as well as an effective team
  • Highly organized individual, capable of handling multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and managing time effectively.
We offer

Length of the Casual Enumerators: 7 days. Designation of Duty Station: Bosaso

Start date: Dec 2025.
