Background
Ministry of Justice Constitution Religious Affairs and Rehabilitation is looking for a dedicated National Consultant to support our Lead Technical Advisor in assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of the Sexual Offences Act implementation in Puntland. This role is crucial in helping the Ministry of Justice enhance protection and support for victims of sexual offences, particularly women and girls.
Responsibilities
As the National Consultant will:
- Collaborate with the Lead Technical Advisor: Assist in designing and implementing the assessment methodology to ensure we meet our goals.
- Support Data Collection: Help develop data collection tools and coordinate efforts in the field to gather accurate and reliable information.
- Engage with Stakeholders: Facilitate communication and collaboration among key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations.
- Analyze and Report Findings: Work on analyzing collected data and drafting reports that highlight key findings, gaps, and actionable recommendations.
- Train Data Collectors: Assist in training data collection enumerators and provide ongoing support during the data gathering process.
- Help Prepare Policy Briefs: Contribute to creating policy briefs that effectively communicate our findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- An advanced degree in law, human rights, or development studies.
- A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in human rights, protection, or governance.
- Familiarity with the legal framework and human rights policies in Somalia, particularly Puntland.
- Experience in conducting assessments and producing analytical reports.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
