The Ministry of Justice, Constitution, Religious Affairs, and Rehabilitation (MOJCRAR) is seeking a qualified and experienced Technical Consultant to support our initiatives aimed at combating violent extremism and promoting peace-building in Puntland.

Responsibilities

1. Coordinate with UNDP and MOJCRAR to eliminate violent extremism and promote peace-building activities.
2. Assist the Ministry in researching the role of religious scholars in peace-building in Somalia and analyze the region’s historical cultural context.
3. Arrange discussions on extremism and peace-building in Puntland.
4. Help MOJCRAR facilitate discussions on combating extremism and promoting harmony in Puntland.
5. Assist the Ministry in collaborating with relevant ministries and state agencies.
6. Start discussions focused on addressing violent extremism and peace-building in Puntland.
7. Organize meetings, workshops, seminars, and other peace-building activities.
8. Provide advice to MOJCRAR on issues related to extremist ideology.
9. Facilitate forums that support tolerance and conflict resolution to address violent extremism.
10. Design and run awareness campaigns to educate communities on the dangers of extremism and the importance of collective action.
11. Facilitate communication and cooperation between religious leaders and security agencies to create effective strategies against extremism.
12. Capacity Building: Improve the skills and resources of local religious leaders to counter radicalization effectively.
13. Systematization of Quranic Madrasas: Create a framework for registering and overseeing madrasas to ensure quality education and prevent radicalization.
14. Prepare work plans, activity reports, and quarterly reports for the Office of the Director General.
